Very fine textured colors from Williamsburg include Cobalts, Phthalo Blues and Permanent Yellows, Oranges and Reds. Williamsburg Cadmiums are milled to a fine grade to create colors with exceptional density and tinting strength, while maintaining a smooth consistency. For many of our Earth colors, we take great care not to over-mill, allowing the pigment to be felt and to preserve the crystalline facets of the minerals. This allows for a stunning interplay between rich masstones and brilliant undertones. Several of our colors are milled to a coarse texture, such as Brown Pink and Stil De Grain. This offers a chunky or gritty feel and allows light to travel through the vehicle, exposing rich golden or mahogany undertones instead of just heavy, dull browns.
